Answer

The scrum board (also called as Scrum task board) serves for the purpose of visualizing the progress of the scrum team during a sprint.

It has 3 columns - To Do, In progress, Done and each task/user story has its card that is placed into one column depending on what is the state of the task/user story.

Thanks to this simple visualization you can quickly see how the cards are moving in the left-to-right direction (from To Do to In Progress to Done). You can see how many cards are in which column and thanks to this you can easily understand what is the overall progress.

The cards can also have different colors to express grouping by person or by feature.
