Purpose
The purpose of this question is to quickly recognize what the candidate's previous role was about. It's an opener to establish a context and follow-up questions.
The candidate will usually briefly describe
- Basic details about the role
- The processes his company is/was using
- Tools
- Responsibilities
- Size of the team
- People/roles he was communicating with
During this question the candidate's communication and presentation skills can be evaluated.
If the language skills are needed for non-native speakers, it is good idea to ask the candidate to swich to the language that will be needed for the role.
