Knowing the best software testing tools is always helpful. Even if you haven't tried all of them yet, make a list of them and try them once. This will expand your general knowledge and will give you a feel of what you like and what you don't, what features are helpful and whaf feaures you don't need at all.

Selenium

Selenium is an open source tool for testing web applications. You can record and replay scripts for browser automation and you can also write these scripts manually using WebDriver.

Watir

An open source Ruby library for automating tests. Watir interacts with a browser the same way people do: clicking links, filling out forms and validating text. There are also ports available for Python and .NET.

Cucumber

Cucumber is a software tool used by computer programmers for testing other software. It runs automated acceptance tests written in a behavior-driven development style. Central to the Cucumber BDD approach is its plain language parser called Gherkin.

AutoIt

AutoIt is a windows automation and scriptiong language. It is a freeware BASIC-like scripting language designed for automating the Windows GUI and general scripting. It uses a combination of simulated keystrokes, mouse movement and window/control manipulation in order to automate tasks in a way not possible or reliable with other languages.
